CIRCA Seminar 11th June 1pm
There will be a CIRCA lunchtime seminar on Wednesday 11th June at 1pm in Maths Lecture Theatre A.
Kamil Zabielski will speak.
Kamil’s Title: On properties of anti-associative groupoids
Kamil’s Abstract: A non-empty set S with a binary operation * is called a magma.
Additionally, if for all elements {a, b, c} in S it holds that (a*b)*c does not equal to a*(b*c) we say that S is an anti-associative magma.
During the presentation, we will discuss the properties of anti-associative magmas, present their classification using graphs, demonstrate methods for counting and determining representatives of isomorphism classes. We will interweave a historical overview and theoretical results with elements of computational algebra using the library of small anti-associative magmas (smallantimagmas) in the GAP system.
